The 21st Medway Scout Group is pleased to announce this year’s Five-a-side Football Tournament, open to both Medway Towns & Gillingham Scout Districts, will be on Sunday 9th June 2024.
The tournament will again be held at Anchorians Sports Ground, Darland Avenue, Gillingham, ME7 3AN, and open to Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. The venue provides ample parking, and has a clubhouse with changing rooms and toilets. Food, refreshments and tuck will also be available - profits this year going to our World Scout Jamboree attendees.
Matches will be played on a league basis in the first round, with the best teams going forward to a knockout competition to find this year’s champions in each Section.
Team entries can be made securely online until Sunday 2nd June. Instructions for paying entry fees (£20 per team), by bank transfer or other methods, will be emailed to entrants.
Please do share a link to this website with all parents and supporters, and refer them to the tournament and match rules. We'd especially like to avoid misunderstandings about age limits and footwear this year (tournament rules 6 & 11).
Team managers must bring a team sheet on match day and register it with match control before 8:30am. Please do not send in your team lists at this stage as details often change before the event. (It is advisable to bring birth certificates of any player that looks older than their age listed on the team sheet.)
Previous winners must return trophies on match day, or if you are not attending this year, by 2nd June 2024.
